Top 5 hotels in Krabi
Krabi hotels are very good value for money. Hotel facilities are good for reasonable prices. Even the hotels on good locations with 4 and 5 stars are very cheap. This is generally also true for Thai hotels in other cities like Chiang Mai, or even in Bangkok. Ao nang is a wonderful quiet area in Krabi province, probably the best area to stay in Krabi. Because the restaurants are many and varied, there-s shops and ATM machines, and the beach is also beautiful here. There are some serious bargains to found around here. I can strongly recommend this 5 hotels:
1. Vogue Resort and Spa Ao Nang ****
I had a blast here. Rooms are new and very clean. Pool is big with views to a nearly cliff. Spa and massage service is good, and some rooms even come with Jacuzzi inside. Food is what you expect, delicious. The hotel provides all services you might need, like tours, but then again i feel is just best to hire tours in some of the outside shops for a better deal. Also there’s a bar, cafeteria, pick-up service, conference room, gym.. Well, about anything you would expect on a 5 Star hotel, except this is a 4 star hotel, and comes cheaper than an actual 5 star hotel.
The hotel is not far from the beach, about a 5 minute walk to Ao Nang beach, just near a Mc’donalds and a few other restaurants and shops. I can recommend Ao Nang area for anyone who wants to stay in a quiet, but still well serviced area, with lots of good restaurants ;).
Reference price: 50$ per night . You can check here rates and availability.
2. Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve Krabi *****
If money is no problem, Phulay Bay, Ritz-Carlton hotel is arguably one of the most luxurious hotels in Krabi. Featuring a private beach this as luxurious and dreamy as it gets. A perfect choice for honeymooners. Also because this area is a paradise of tranquility and even more quiet than Ao Nang. But this might be a disadvantage for some, because there’s not that much around the hotel itself, and some might find it just too quite. But then again transportation can always be arranged, and some might find this extra quietness the definitive feature you are seeking for.
The hotel is truly impressive, and easily one of most luxurious hotels i ever been at. Villas feature Jacuzzi with hydro massage, hotel has gym with pool, a restaurant, shops, well… just about anything you might need. If your wallet can afford it this is easily the place to be.
Reference price: 400$ per night. You can check here rates and availability.
3. I Krabi Hostel Aonang **
A cheap alternative, if every dollar counts look no further. A bed in a mixed dormitory of 4 would set you back only around 8$ per night, not bad. I have stayed in hostels featuring both 8 and 4 beds per room (I even heard of hostels with 20 bed per room, but i not dare to try). The difference is hostel rooms with more than 8 bunks are noisy, the 4 bed option is far more quieter than the 8 option, guaranteeing you to get some sleep. Other than that, This is your typical hostel, with clean bathrooms and showers, and with some common areas, which are always nice to meet other fellow travelers and make friends.
I Krabi Hostel, is located in Ao Nang, just about 10 minute walk to the beach. Also noteworthy are the single rooms, which are good with a private bathroom, and coming cheap at just about 20$ per night.
Reference price: 8$ per night. (1 bed in a 4 bed dormitory). Single room : 20$. You can check here rates and availability.
4. Sleep Whale Express Hotel ***
Located in Krabi town and is a good choice for those looking for cheap alternatives. . This little hotel features double and twin rooms. I would recommend this hotel for those who need a couple of nights in Krabi town, or using this as a stop over. The beds are really comfortable and the staff helpful and all around pleasant. The beach is about 10 minutes walking from here, but in exchange you get to stay in a quieter area.
Reference price: 27$ per night. You can check here rates and availability.
5. Deevana Plaza Krabi Aonang ****
Great value for money. The facilities are quite new and cared for, although the pool could be better. The food was great, specially the breakfast was of high standard. And the staff always seemed to try to go the extra mile and be extra-polite, extra-careful. All in all, giving me the impression that managers here do a good job to make staff work extra hard 😉 . The rooms are spacious and overlook the pool. Generally i was very satisfied, specially for the price.
Reference price: 65$ per night. You can check here rates and availability.
