Siargao top 7 hotels 2019 update

The first time in Siargao was for 4 days. The second time, almost a year later, I stayed for 10 days. It is not enough yet. After a week in Siargao, I considered buying a piece of land there. I just thought: Why not? Maybe I could stay forever …?

Spending a night at Guyam island shooting the beautiful sunset and milky at night.

Buddha Surf Resort: Buddha Resort (where the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been the week after I left … DAMN!). My friends really liked the place. I spent one night at the resort and was nice. Rates from PHP1900 / night (U$ 42).

Kermit Surf & Dive EcoCamp. Probably one of the best choices.

The rooms are wonderfully decorated with native styles.  Single rooms cost about  PHP900 / night (US $ 19), double room from PHP990 / night (U$ 21). Each room comes with a great breakfast. Really big!

The location?= Five minutes walk from the beach in general moon. Two minutes if you run. The staff?= Gianni the owner will become your best friend.

Paglaom Hostel: If you have a limited budget, try this new hostel! The bed in a bedroom costs PHP250 / night (U$ 6). A cozy place for backpackers in general moon. Cheap, clean and fun hostel with bunk beds and hammocks.

Point 303 Resort: Another highly rated budget hotel is the Point 303 Resort near Cloud 9. Native style rooms with fan for PHP700 (US $ 15) and A / C rooms for PHP1400 (US $ 30). A relaxed complex with spacious rooms and a nice terrace to hang out.

Isla Cabana: if you have a larger budget, a little further down on the beach you will find Isla Cabana (image above on the right). Rates from PHP4900 (US $ 110) for a double room with A / C. Not exactly suitable for the budget, but the complex is incredibly beautiful, has spacious cabins around a pool, perfectly located on the white sand beach of General Luna.

Tiki Bungalows: this resort is run by a Swedish boy and his wife. Beautiful native cabins with a modern interior, located along the beach between Cloud 9 and downtown General Luna. Free WIFI. Rooms start at around US $ 20 / night. You can book Tiki Bungalows directly on Agoda or on Airbnb (use this link to obtain U$ 30 travel credits for Airbnb!)

Eddie’s Beach Resort: Wonderful scenery right on the beach, surrounded by palm trees and the perfect views in front of the beach (photo below, right). This complex is run by a friendly German friend. The spacious and impeccable rooms, the good restaurant with fair prices and the free WiFi connection are more than enough reasons to stay here. From US $ 30 / night.

Siargao is generally a bang for buck place, no need to spend a lot, but for those who need even more options, check here for a full list of Siargao hotels.

So where is Siargao?

So, where is this hidden gem, you ask? Good question. Siargao is located 800 kilometers southeast of the capital of the Philippines, Manila. It belongs to the province of Surigao del Norte, located in the northeast corner of Mindanao.

Most travelers end up staying at General Luna because the lively coastal city has a decent variety of resorts and restaurants, and is not yet saturated by mass tourism.

The island has many natural attractions and offers beautiful landscapes: perfect white beaches, charming lagoons, caves, sandbars, coral reefs, strange rock formations, exotic fauna, endless rice fields, waterfalls, a large mangrove reserve … and much more…

Oh, wait … did I mention that Siargao is famous for surfing? Siargao is not only for riding waves and the perfect waves. And I’m not a surfer. Because I can not get up early. I sleep until noon. I’m a beach bum. Now you know. SIARGAO TRAVEL BLOG IAMATRAVELBLOG (5)

If you have ever dreamed of an island paradise without annoying vendors, without going to the beach until the early hours and without loud music, you will love Siargao! The relaxed and relaxed atmosphere of the island makes you want to stay forever.

No matter how many days you have planned to stay in Siargao, let me tell you that it will not be enough. That’s because you’ll fall in love with people, beaches and food. Yes, the food. The seafood is absolutely the best, a culinary party! It’s so delicious, I promise you’ll dream it after you leave the island. To get to the point: plan a lot of time for your stay in Siargao.

To get to Siargao is easier than ever since there are direct flights from Manila. Siargao is not as crowded as Boracay or Cebu and that’s a plus.

The prices on this island are very reasonable, and I regard Siargao, still, as one of the Philippines true hidden gems.
